Dusty was my friend Becky's pony. Old and slow, except the one time I tried to ride him. He took off like a bolt, and since I was just holding on to his mane I hit the grass, eating <ahem> his dust. It was my first and only pony ride.

I have similar memories - riding is not so easy and often ends in pain.

Oh no! I have a similar story of a ride gone bad and I never rode again either--though mine only ended in a near fall--hanging on. Hope you didn't get too hurt!
I love the rawness of this sketch!!!
