Firewheel
Last month I completed this art for the cover of Storytelling Magazine and the issue came out last week. It was a challenging assignment but I loved that I had a lot of creative control over the work - no sketches reviewed, straight to finish. I wish there was an online version to point you all to but you'll just have to put your own story to the image!
I'm showing the original next month at a local exhibition and just decided that I should have it printed up as a summer postcard. I have been so busy with book and design work (plus exhibits!) that I didn't get around to working on a new promotional image. It's my goal to have at least 3 postcards sent out each year and I could see the summer slipping away without a new image to share - and since I don't have an agent, these postcards are really my strongest marketing tool.
It's beautiful, Gina! I love the movement in this piece and how the two figures connect like a puzzle or yin yang symbol.

THIS ROCKS! Love the flowing movement of the piece. Your eye really swirls around. And the palette is nice too. I assume the local show you're referring to is the one in Portsmouth through the Jeanne lady? She never responded to my email... :(

No worries--not pushy at all! Thanks for alerting me to the email problem. It's been an issue this week with clients (and possibly potential clients for all I know). Calling my web host now. Unacceptable!

Gina,
This piece is amazing. It is sort of like the children's book version of a Gustav Klimt painting. Love the flowing hair.
