Convenient to this week's Illustration Friday theme, I had a request to work on an alphabet for babies. I was about to start on the animal version (see alligator below) when my husband reminded me about my baby-veggies from a few months ago. The challenge comes with the letter D: dates, dill, daikon, dragonfruit, durrie. None of these is very visually appealing to me. The daikon comes closest (like a fat white carrot) so we'll see what I do if I keep going with the rest of the letters.
oooo.. i like them!

I'm in love with the veggies. You made them SOOOOO cute! They would be really clever on bibs or baby shirts.
How about skipping the good stuff and making "D" a donut? ha ha

So adorable! I love the way the type is integrated with everything. I think the carrots are my favorite.

nicely done. You really captured the old-school feel. I like the alligator especially for it's lack of black lines.
I'm curious how far you can go with the veggies. Once you get to the lower alphabet, things thin out. I mean you can get 'watermelon' , 'yams', and 'zucchini', but I can't think of a single 'Q', 'V' or 'X'.

Great style and so fun!
I really like the angle from which you drew the aligator. I'd love to see more of the series. :)
