Daily Page: Mi mi mi... MI!

June_19_09
Hobbling back into my routine. I had a crazy week+ of traveling and then Miles not napping. He's getting back into better rhythms so hopefully will my sketching!

I like Ann Marie's comment about computer-detoxing maybe one day a week. It was going to be today (I pondering this while walking baby during a brief respite from the rain) but totally spaced and was glued to email at his first nap today. Old habits, hard to break!

On another note, does anyone have recommendations for books? I'll take MG, YA, PB - whatever! I'm hitting the library tomorrow for a baby signing class and want to have a list in hand. The days of browsing the stacks maybe behind me for a while.

Blog Neglect!

Hey all,

I've been unable to access my scanner and main machine for a week now, hence the lack of posts. I'll be back in business in the next few days. I'm having major blog-neglect guilt!!!

I took a nice break to go up to Maine with family last week and my husband is transitioning me over to his machine (and also setting us up with long-overdue backup drives). I've been a little twitchy just knowing I can't get to my machine. Anyone else have machine-withdrawals? I'm actually thinking about taking an internet vacation sometime. I have an iTouch so I'm able to at least 'surf' around the clock which is making me a little 'real world' dumb. I wonder if there is a way for us all to take a break together and see how it effects our creativity? Thoughts?

Daily Page: Cookies and Milk

June_10_09
I took a break to just enjoy time with my family, didn't I say I wouldn't promise to post beyond that first week? My husband gave me the idea to have the cookie push the milk over, thanks baby!

Is it just me or are these "pages" getting smaller... Must be in relation to the amount of sleep I'm getting lately, hmmm.

Daily Page: Monkeys and more

Yesterday was a wash, today was crazy but what better to draw when your mind is all scattered than monkeys!!!

Daily Page: Hula Monkey!

May29_09
Hula Monkey is actually the first little story character I drew out of college - although he didn't do the hula back then! I never really told his story but it's always been in the back of my head. It would be fun to think of him becoming a character in a picture book because I have these really old sketches, in books, on post-its, etc that would be cool to share. It's strange how these little characters are so real in our heads sometimes.
